    unintentional break

My summer break has been wonderful and, at times, crazy busy. Which has meant an unintentional computer break for the past few weeks. There have even been days when I didn't even login on Facebook [Shock]. Running. Scrapping. Sleepovers. Movies. And this, my favorite summer pastime...

    IMG_1082blog

And just because I think it's so cool. Just for fun. I created a My Right-Now Favorite Running Songs iMix that is now published on iTunes.

    Picture 1blog

    For today:
    1. a run with Chad this a.m.
    2. beginning to finalize plans for our trip to DC
    3. go to see the new Transformers movie
    4. finish editing and order photos
    5. go to the grocery store
I hope everyone is having a fabulous summer!

    Edited to add iMix link

    Photos

Years from now what will friends and family say when they look at photos taken over the years?

13 Things People Might Say When They Look At 1000s of Conyers Family Photos

    1. Jill must have never left the house without a camera.
    2. The first day of school was a really big deal.
    3. The Conyers went to Starbucks and the bookstore...a lot!
    4. Alyssa loved to have her photo taken.
    5. We hope Jill was at stop lights/signs when she took the shots from inside her car.
    6. There is a black and white phase, garage photo shoot phase and a fill-the-frame phase.
    7. What's the deal with all the running shoes photos?  And Starbucks' cups?
    8. In addition to celebrations, milestones and special occasions, there are a lot of photos of day-to-day life
    9. There are not many photos of Jill.
    10. Alec's first favorite TV show was Teletubbies.
    11. Alyssa loved pizza.
    12. Clearly, family time was very important in the Conyers' home.
    13. And because I often wish there were more photos of me when I was a child I hope one day Alec and Alyssa will both say, "thank you mom."
What will people say about your photos?

    This and That

    Enjoying summer break :)

Running on my schedule and not a work schedule.
    Flip flops.
    Movies.
Start a new season of cheer.
Sports physical for Alec to run Cross Country.
    Races.
    Reading.
    Just hanging out.

My latest project has been Operation Digital Organization!

    Bridge Screen Shot

Using Adobe CS4 Bridge and Scott Kelby's PSE6 book, I organized and tagged photos dating back to 2003. All digital photos can now be found with a keyword and a click. This task was time consuming but totally worth it. Now, the "maintenance" of the organization is easy. Feels great to get this done. Next, backing up all photos on DVDs. This has been one of those things I kept putting off until I read in Scott Kelby's book, "it's not a matter of if your hard drive will crash, it's a matter of when."

Not much scrapping going on in the past few weeks. 3 theme albums in the works and on Sun I'm starting A Week In the Life 2 (inspired by Ali Edwards ). Just adding the week to the existing album.

    13 Shots of Determination

    _T13 Determination

This week Alyssa started her second season of competitive cheer. Overall, tumbling is her thing. Her strength. Starting the second season means new tumbling skills which, for Alyssa, means a Layout.

Morning routine at our house is once you have everything done and ready for school the time is yours. Alyssa was up early, dressed and everything done. Her time was on the trampoline. A Layout is her goal. The first 2 shots are of Alyssa talking to herself. I can just imagine what she is saying. I've probably had the same conversations with myself.

    Determination

    T13 - Reasons I Love to Run

    IMG_3743blog

    1. This puts into words exactly what I feel...

"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." George Sheehan

    2. No matter what is going on in life, when I run I think of nothing else. A mental break.

    3. I love the feeling of passing people in a race (is that wrong?).

    4. Staying healthy.

    5. Being outside.

    6. Reaching my goals no matter how big or how small.

    7. Few things feel better than crossing the finish line.

    8. Teaching Alec and Alyssa the importance of being active and an overall healthy lifestyle.

    9. Works wonders for eliminating stress.

    10. I've made some great friends.

    11. Running is something we do as a family. Support. Encouragement. Together.

    12. Setting a new PR is so cool.

    13. How can I not love something that makes me this happy

    Life is Good

In case anyone missed my most exciting news...I have a new job! So excited about how this all turned out. Things really do happen for a reason (even getting RIFd). It's just that sometimes it's so freakin' hard to see the reason. Now I see it!

    IMG_1050blog

Having fun with my latest project. I finally decided how I want to document my 2009 Project Gratitude photos. Using my favorite, multi-size photos and an 8.5x11 album. I'm playing catch up now but my plan is to add to it weekly. Keeping it simple and doable.

    and

Last weekend Chad and I ran a race together! With kids and the fact that he prefers trail runs and I prefer street, this doesn't happen often. It was awesome! We had the best time with the excitement of the race, laughing, chatting, people watching, enjoying the post race food (in no hurry to get home) and doing what we love...together.

Yes, I would have to say life is good :)

    My Word for 2009

    Wise Words

    • "There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." ~Orison Marden
    • "Because you're wondering if your grandchildren will too; because its raining; because you can, and others can't; because its faster than walking; because that shaky-leg-thing is all about nervous energy; because you can't fly; because you can fly; because your personal best is just that, yours; because the pain of a blister is nothing compared to the pain of stopping; because you like the resistance the wind gives you; because you like the resistance you give the wind; just because." ~NYC Marathon Ad
    • "It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." George Sheehan
