D is for...
Digital Photography
One of the coolest things ever! Simply shoot away and delete leaving only the photos I want. No more wasted film. Makes sharing photos with family a snap. Editing options are endless.
Dating
I've never liked the whole dating thing. Too much effort and energy if you ask me. Dating Chad, who is now my husband, being the exception of course.
Doctor
In looking for a doctor for myself I don't focus too much on bedside manner. If I'm confident in the competence I can overlook a less then stellar bedside manner. With that said, it's not the same when I'm looking for a doctor for Alec and Alyssa. For them a good bedside manner is a must. I have had and currently have exceptional doctors.
Decisions
I'm a head/heart combo decision maker most of the time. I just "know" the right decision. For those can't-seem-to-decide decisions I'm a big fan of listing pros and cons.
Doctorate
I will get my doctorate at some point in my life. Probably in special education.
Doing Something
I'm happiest when I'm doing something. I have friends who say, "This weekend I'm going to do nothing" and they're perfectly happy. Not my idea of a great weekend. Sitting at red lights I will look through a magazine. Waiting in line I'll read a book. Just doing.
Dance Studio
My daughter started taking dance lessons again. I love to watch her abilities and confidence develop class after class. She works hard during the class with a very focused sense of concentration (most of the time) to learn a new step or combination.
Dares
Alec, Alyssa and I have conversations about when someone dares you to do something. Without fail my response is if they're daring you to do it it's probably not a good idea and is probably a s-t-u-p-i-d thing to do. Again without fail after we talk about said dare of the conversation they both agree that it would in fact be a very s-t-u-p-i-d thing to do. BTW, yes we still spell stupid. That started when Alec and Alyssa were very young so why start using that word now. Unless of course I'm trying to make a strong point that will stick with them.
Daughter
She's creative, smart, athletic, caring, compassionate, and beautiful. She's my daughter.
Dad
My kids have the most amazing dad. My dad flew from FL to CA for the first time just to see me (ok who am I kidding, he flew to see the grandkids) despite a fear of flying. I'm a lot like my dad in ways that it took getting a little bit older to realize. We talk weekly. Our relationship has grown into something that has transcended the great distance between us. Now, if I could only get him to buy a computer.
