Welcome to Studio Friday ! A place where we artists meet for a weekly creative challenge to show little glimpses of our studios, our creative space. It is a place where you can show off the treasures and gems in your studio. YOU are the artist!
This week's topic for Friday July 20th: What does the color yellow mean to you??
Even though I love shabby pastelly hues of pinks and robin's egg blues, I am still drawn to yellow. For me, yellow is epitome of summer and happy faces. Yellow is hot summer sun and mustard! Yellow just makes me happy and I wonder how other artists interpret this color.
My "yellow" started with this...a napkin sketch at Starbucks. At one of my favorite neighborhood Starbucks I love how some of the walls are painted.
I was determined to use this idea for a creation of my own. That brings me to yellow. Starting with this...
...to the first layer. Yellow! This has been on my desk for a couple of days just because I like the color!
Waiting for the next steps with more 2 colors, painters tape, rub ons and stamps...
I hardly ever work with the color yellow but I couldn't resist this color combo. Very cool to create just for the sake of creating! Trying something new. I need to do this more often.
