Believing in the run is about dedication.
Believing in the run is about getting up at 4:30am and logging 14 miles before the sun comes up and the rest of the world wakes up.
Believing in the run is about running each day as if it is your last.
Believing in the run is about pushing yourself on days you don't want to and feeling that runner's high when you're done.
Believing in the run is knowing that out of hard work comes reward.
For me believing in the run is a lot of things ...
It's about pushing myself on race day and the joy of finishing well for my ability.
It's about the energy it gives me.
The time it allows me to reflect and helping to push me through those hard miles.
Believing in the run has provided me with a sanctuary of peace, renewal, strength, and a clear mind.
It has helped me to rediscover my inner child.
It's knowing that every road, trail, and track was made for me.
Although always striving to do my best, believing in the run is more than first place finishes, PR's, and medals but realizing I have a gift and blessing that many others do not have ...the ability to use my legs to better myself.
Running is an essential part of my life like the air I breathe, the water I drink, and the food I eat.
Forever and always ...
I will "believe in the run"
(Note to self: I will...despite the bad days, bad weather, feelings of doubt and the never ending task of finding the perfect running shoe)
Oh Jill, I so love this and so appropriately so perfect before the race...
