13 Thoughts About Being 43
- The saying "I wish I knew then what I know now" is so true.
- I thought my late 30s were the best years of my life and the same has been true for my 40s.
- I get more satisfaction from resisting cravings than I would get had I indulged.
- High school was all about a boy. College was about being a student. Then I got married and became a wife. Followed by children and becoming a mom. Then in my early 30s, I wasn't sure who I was supposed to be. I'm happy to say at 43 I finally feel a sense of balance.
- I'm the healthiest I've ever been.
- I wish I would have started running earlier in life.
- Before long both of my kids are going to be taller than me.
- At one time I worried about so many things that I now realize really didn't matter.
- With age comes more self confidence. Less self doubt.
- I don't feel 43. Or maybe this is what 43 is supposed to feel like and was wrong about what I expected.
- I'm convinced more than ever that marrying Chad was fate.
- I'm working on my unrealistic expectations of perfection.
- Yesterday was my birthday :)
More Thursday 13
Good List! And happy birthday to a fellow leo! Mine was last week! I'm not in my 40's yet, but just a couple years to go and I swear that will be my best yet to come. I love your list! I should print it and remind myself of these daily, especially numbers 8 and 12 and 1 and 3 and.....again, thanks for this!

Birthdays area good time to review. I think 40's was a very hot age, still young but mature too.
I like #3. I think the satisfaction with it is more lasting.

Happy belayed birthday !! I can only tell you that it gets even better once you have the menopause behind you (that's not such a nice period in a woman's life) but then you fly higher and higher. I never felt so good in my life then now at 67 (my birthday was a months ago)
So there is hope for you that it continues !!

Your list resonated with me. Seems like a common experience for women to come into themselves when they get past the roles of being someone for someone else.
It appears to work for your readers as well.
Congrats for all that you've become and all that you will be.

I'm pretty short, so I really look forward to the kids getting taller than me. I measured The Boy last night and came up with 6'3", so no worries there. The Girl is still only 5'3". She's 13 so I still have hope.

Hi
Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog :)
How did I start running? Inspired by my husbands first marathon and meeting Ultramarathon Man, Dean Karnazes. I started with 20 mins on a treadmill and gradually increased the time. Totally focused on time not speed. In the beginning it was hard but before I knew it was at 30, 45,...you get the idea :)
Stick with it through the beginning and it will become an addiction LOL Ive never met anyone that started running and quit or didnt love it. Oh and I read books, blogs and magazines and joined message boards for support and encouragement.
Id love to know if you start and how it goes :)
PS. Im replying to the blog comment via email. Would you please let me know if you get this via email. Thanks.
