In the past my One Little Words have been action, balance, and time. They were relatively easy as far as knowing what I needed to do. Where to begin. They were mostly a matter of making conscious efforts to make a change.
2011? Not so easy. My One Little Word is EMBRACE [who I am]. Unlike the past 3 years, I'm not really sure where to start. How does one go about learning how to truly believe I Am Enough and finding the courage to Protest Perfect.
I decided to go back to where my thoughts of what is now Embrace [who I am] began. What, at the time, seemed an unattainable goal. Seemed impossible.
This book and Ali Edwards' class at Big Picture Scrapbooking, One Little Word. It's a start right?
My one little word that is turning out to be anything but little.

do we keep the same word for the year?
Posted by: Justine | January 01, 2011 at 11:38 AM
Hi Justine
I keep one word for the whole year. I've seen the one word concept done different ways. Anywhere from 1 - 3 words as a focus. Do what will work best for you.
Have you checked out Ali Edwards' blog? She goes into great detail as well as a lot of info in the comments from other participants.

Love that you are willing to take on such a challenging word. And you sitting there reading that book makes me know that we are kindred spirits. I have struggled my entire life with the flaw of perfectionism. And I will have you know that although it is a flaw in many ways, it is also a gift. I see this in you. You are so beautiful. And EVERY. SINGLE. THING. you tackle is AMAZING!! This last year was the "year of lish" as I attempted to embrace the person I am. And although I am far from done, I made great strides. My wish for you is that you are able to see the wonderful person you are as you embrace the beautiful things that make you who you are. Happy New Year!

I have sat on the sidelines and watched others pick a word for the past few years. With this photography challenge, I decided to jump in and try it. My word will be a challenge but I need the reminder to stay positive and kept coming back to it. I'll link my post up shortly, though my photo already stretches the taken by me criteria as it was a group effort from the family with hubby helping greatly. Thankfully, we have a remote shutter control.

That looks like a very compelling book. What a fun weekly challenge. I love it.

I love the title of that book. As the daughter of an extreme perfectionist, I've learned so much about the pros and cons of perfection and I'm proud to say I am no longer a perfectionist. It is so freeing.
