Week 5
A celebration of a personal journey.
A favorite quote:
Perfectionism is the belief that if we live perfect, look perfect, and act perfect, we can minimize or avoid the pain of blame, judgment, and shame. It’s a shield. Perfectionism is a twenty-ton shield that we lug around thinking it will protect us, when in fact; it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from taking flight. Brene Brown

Journey: I've got to enjoy and appreciate this journey...not rush through it or fill up every second of every day. I just need to be.

I've been reading Buddhism for Mothers of Schoolchildren by Sarah Napthali. A quote that she references that caught my eye as I read last night by Michel de Montaigne, "My life has been full of terrible misfortunes, most of which never happened." That struck a note with me as I think about the time I spend wasting on worrying about things that probably won't come to pass instead of focusing on the present.

For me, Savor requires ongoing reminders to be in the now. My hope is to create some things to have around so there are more visual cues for me to step away from the keyboard and live in the moment.
