Another week of learning and practice :)
And after getting the great advice and tips on blogging photos via flickr I'm giving it a try this week. I was losing color and sharpness some where in the process of saving for the web and blogging. Let's see if flickr helps.
Edited: Flickr makes a huge difference!! The blogged photos via flickr have better color and clarity. Thank you for the tips and suggestions.
the colors really pop now - explain what you mean about flickr vs blogging a photo for me...thanks jill!

Love the crop and the brighter colors! I filled up my blogger account and will likely be moving to Flickr. I hadn't heard about loss of color and sharpness when blogging. Is that a typepad thing or universal?

I like the brightness and saturation of color here. :)

Really nice edit - I like how vibrant it is and the crop is really nice. So glad that flickr is working out for you. I wouldn't do it any other way now.

Glad you were able to figure out flickr!
I love how you cleaned up and warmed up your edit! It definitely puts the focus more on your son (not sure why, cause the crop aint that different, but hey! :).

Thank you Susan. I dont think its a Typepad thing. I received comments that the others notice the same thing and they use other platforms for blogging. Weird.

Thank you Jill.
I have noticed (more so lately) that when I blog a photo straight from my computer I lose sharpness and color of the photo. If I download to flickr and use the HTML code to add the photo to my blog I dont lose the color and sharpness. Let me know if you want/need more info.

Great job! I love the clarity and sharpness in the photo. I had always wondered why my photos never seemed as good as when they were just in my computer. Thanks for the tip on flickr!

I'll have to try that! Thanks for the flickr tip!

The clarity in your edit is great! I noticed some bloggers were uploading pics via flickr and really had no idea why. Thanks for the tip!

I was interested to see how this photo would turn out after editing - much brighter and crisper, and I like the cropping on it, too :-)

Love how you brightened it up! I've been using Flickr for a couple weeks too and love it!

Flickr doesn't do any major compressions on the photo, so when you use Flickr's HTML code to display the image on your site, it looks like how you saved it. A lot of free photo services or blog services that allow photo uploads DO major compression on the photo, so there is a loss of sharpness and color as you experienced. Most web surfers won't notice, but you and other photographers probably will. :)
Like the color in your final edit!
(Really sorry if this posts twice... I got some weird error the first time?)
