Part 2: Edit
Theme: Up 

SOOC

Edit 1: crop, curves adjustment, Nice and Easy, sharpen

Edit 2: crop, curves adjustment, Nice and Easy and a new technique I've been wanting to try. 

1. Open an image.
2. Duplicate background layer
3. Apply "Gaussian Blur" (Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur)
and set the "Radius" slider to 4.0. 
4. Change the "Blending Mode" from
"Normal" to "Overlay."  Cool!
5. Adjust the opacity as needed. I used 88% on this photo.

I'm happy with how these turned out. Edit 2 needs a few adjustments but for trying a new technique not too bad. Actually I was happy with the SOOC.

I like your 2nd edit better -- on my screen it looks a touch too sharp, but my screen doesn't always make things look properly sharp, either! :)

It's a great SOOC! The first edit is my favorite - I like the crop and intensity of the color compared to the original. I can even see the red blooms on the roses(?) in the background. Great job! :)
