Meet Team Chad
Yesterday Chad ran a 50 mile trail race, Dawg Gone Long Run 50 Miler, at Caesar Creek. The other 3 in the photo? We were his pacers. I ran 18.25 miles of mud, hills, over and under fallen trees and more hills. I drank more water than ever. I enjoyed the scenery. It was beautiful and a nice break from our regular Saturday long runs.
I still prefer road runs but the ideal is a combination of running both trail and road runs. The strange thing is, running trails is a totally different mind set. Next year, I'm doing the whole 50!
A few more shots.
His first stop to eat and change shoes.
I never thought I would say I don't mind the mud and getting dirty. It's part of the fun!
Relax when you're done.
50 miles later! Nice job Chad! Just keep raising the bar for me :)
Surprise yourself. Push past your physical limits! ~Unknown
Very cool! My brother-in-law is an ultra marathon...we have crewed for him in a few races and my husband has paced him. It's quite the experience!

WOW!! 50 miles??? That is overwhelming. A HUGE Congratulations to Chad!!! And fun that you were all able to run with him for part of it! I have never run on a trail. They are a little intimidating, but someday I would like to try it!

WOW! 50 miles of trails for Chad and 18.25 for you! Yikes! Excellent job. I am impressed, 5 miles was tough for me. I like trail running, but I really need to incorporate it more into my training so that those little muscles in my feet and ankles that don't get used on road runs can get into shape and not spend 48 hours recuperating. Hope you had a great time and got some rest today!

Thank you Heather. It was a hard course but in the end we had a great time and lots of rest on Sun.

It definitely relieves stress almost without fail. The only time I am able to think of nothing else if I want to. Thanks for visiting :)
