Goals for 2011 reviewed and planning for 2012.
When I started thinking about goals for 2011 I was recovering from a stress fracture so my thoughts were consumed by running running again, training smarter, and making progress.
Run to the top of this hill. A 2011 goal I didn't meet in 2010 due to the stress fracture.
Status: I'll let you know in 2 weeks.
Incorporate strength training consistently. The key word being consistently.
Status: Accomplishing! I strength train at least 4 times/week when not training and 3 times/week during marathon training. The only way I was able to do this was by cancelling my gym membership and working out at home (aka P90X.) Keeping it measurable, after starting at 0 I can now do 3 unassisted pullups.
Focus on nutrition. It seemed like the next logical step.
Status: Accomplishing! I have been clean eating almost exclusively for about 4 months. Not a big difference from how I was eating before but just enought tweaking to my diet to notice a difference.
Incorporate trail running into my workout schedule. After reading the advantages of trail running for marathon training (Runner's World) I was convinced I needed to try it.
Status: Accomplishing! I have added at least one trail race/month. Like running 17 miles of Dawg Gone Long Run 50 miler to pace my husband.
And last but certainly not least, run the Chicago Marathon 2011.
Status: I'll let you know in October.
Ambition and effort for 2012? I just recently started thinking about this. What I've come up with so far is to run a half marathon every month. More goals to come!
Are you accomplishing your goals for 2011? Any thoughts yet for 2012?

I thought my goal of running without passing out was impressive until I read this. Lol! You look amazing Jill. Those are some impressive guns you have there. And impressive goals. Good for you for doing so well. I know you will do that hill. You can do it. I find silly helps to push me forward, I think of Forest Gump when I get tired on my walks. Crazy but true.
