August 4. Celebrating 44 years of me. In the past year or so I've often said, "I'm more fit, stronger, healthier and happier than ever before." What it is about being in my 40s that makes that statement so true? Mostly, I think it's an attitude and mindset along with:
1. Clean eating. Consuming food in its most natural state- or as close as possible to it—is the soul of clean eating. It’s not a diet; it’s a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, leading to health, well-being and a lean look.” -Clean Eating Magazine
2. Finding your passion and living it. Running (Why I Believe In the Run) and photography (Capture Your 365).
3. Love. Friendship. Security.
5. Accepting imperfection (and always striving to be better).
What is something in your life that is "better than ever before?" Somthing that makes you a better person?

I'm with you on being stronger and in better health than ever. I really started working at this when I was 35 but when I got closer to 40 I really started living a healthier life style. It feels great!

I definitely have started to respect my body a whole lot more in my 30s....respecting it for what it can do and treating it nicer!

I understand where you're coming from on being better than ever the older you get. If I were only in as good of shape when I was 20 as I am now... *sigh*
Can't wait to see the menu templates... sounds like a huge help for me!

I love this. I am 37 and in much better shape than I was at 27 :-) I can't wait to see how good I feel at 40!
Hope you had an amazing birthday!

I am 33 and definitely am having to work harder than I did in the last decade of my life. However, I have learned a lot about myself and my body in the last 10 years. Like you said, running, healthy eating and family are some things that I have learned to focus on!
Happy Birthday!

The fact that you so obviously LOVE your family makes me smile .... such a pleasure to stop by here!!
As my 20th high school reunion rolls around, I'm seriously amazed at how much healthier I am now, than way back then. I didn't understand that good health is not a fluke, but it is EARNED -- hard work both with exercise, taking care of your spirit, and what you put into your body.
I love working toward a goal, and watching/feeling myself grow stronger and healthier all the time!
Thanks for being such a wonderful hostess!

Super cool hop! Thanks so much for hosting :)
Finally I have a truly positive view of myself most of the time. It took 48 years to get here... lol. I'm not sweating the small stuff anymore... and I do see that it is ALL small stuff!

Running has made me better than ever before. This week two incidences confirmed this for me. One: a woman made some fairly malicious comments about a (not one of my favorite) colleague and I heard myself made a positive statement about the person and change the subject instead of countering with more juicy bits I knew... Two: my son said, "why are you so funny today?", complimenting me on my sense of humor. This is related to my Zen running and even just the way I ask myself when I don't want to get up in the morning: is my behavior who I want to be? Guess I should write about this somewhere else, this is a long comment! Thanks for getting me thinking!
(late hopping yet again!)

I started in my 30s too. I wonder what it is about the 30s that made me totally change my way of thinking?
