My focus this year has been the Dayton Air Force Half Marathon in September and the Chicago Marathon in October.
What's next? How can I challenge myself? I seem to keep coming back to...
- Complete Insanity 60-Day Total Body Conditioning or P90X2 90-Day Challenge beginning in December.
- Run marathon #2 in November.
- Run 2 marathons in 2012.
- Run half marathon/month in 2012. Still deciding if this is realistically doable.
- Run my first ultra in 2012.
- One day run a 200-mile relay like Hood to Coast. At this point I don't know 11 other people that will commit. Anyone interested?
During a recent conversation about health and fitness someone made the comment, "I'm not giving up the fun stuff" and my frist thought was, "This is my fun stuff!"
What will your next challenge be? Any thoughts on future fitness dreams?
You are going to be a running girl this coming year!!! I would love 2012 to be filled with more half marathons (2-3), a 100 mile relay in VT, and we are really praying for a baby in 2012.....my current challenge!

I couldn't agree more--this IS the fun stuff!
A relay is on my bucket list as well. The HTC dates didn't work for me this year but I'd definitely consider doing it next year.

This is the fun stuff! Well, the hard as hell, but amazingly rewarding fun stuff! I did a relay earlier this year, it was so crazy fun.

I think a relay would be awesome fun! I want to incorporate more running and also start documenting my workouts, maybe with a blog or something-keep me accountable. Will do the SLO Triathlon again, and will work towards a half marathon for next year. Very much a newbie runner for what seems like forever!

Great goal list! Some of those are on mine as well. I'm wanting to run Badwater. Crazy? Maybe.

i would LOVE to do a relay with you some day. The Ragnar relays are my absolute fave! Many of our goals are similar :) I really hope to run an ultra at some point!

I'm actually from Dayton, so I'm going home to run the Air Force half as well- which is my next upcoming race as of now.
If you're serious about wanting to do a 200 mile relay, I'm running the Las Vegas Ragnar Relay Oct 21-22. Our team has 1 more open spot. If you're interested I can give you details GALORE. Otherwise if thats too soon of notice, you can always like Ragnar on Facebook or check their website- there are TONS of teams who are looking to fill a spot or 2. Great way to make new friends.

you are right...this is the fun stuff! I haven't committed past my first 1/2 in November, but I'm sure I'll have some New Year's goals of some sort :)

Hi Jennifer! I really haven't committed 100% yet. I don't know what it is about this time of year or maybe it's this point in marathon training that has me constantly thinking about my next challenge. Maybe because I feel like I've been training for Chicago forever :)

Hey,
Just wanted to let you know there is a 200 mile relay in KY called the Bourbon Chase. It is is in October. I would look around for running groups in your area. I joined a running club a few months ago and they decided as a group to do the Bourbon Chase. It has still been difficult to find the 12 people needed though.

Thanks Lisa. The BC is on my list of possible relays. I have 3 people including me that are wiling to commit. 9 more to go :)
