19 Days until Chicago 2011!
The miles have been run, the successes have been enjoyed, the hours running remembered and the heat endured. After running the 2 races on Saturday I feel like the taper is truly starting.
To celebrate my Countdown to Chicago I have a giveaway. The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans has generously donated a free registration for Run the Hood '11 Virtual 5K and 10K.
This is not your oridnary virtual race. As a participant in the race you will receive a race t-shirt to wear on race day and a medal!

Most helpful running advice - Don't compare yourself to everyone else, just run your own race and run to enjoy it.

Running advice: Listen to your own body. Training plans are great, but you should go with what your body is telling you over the plan

You will get exactly what you want out of running if you listen to your body, your mind, and your heart. If you follow those three things, you will never fail. Take a chance on yourself because you are worth it. Sign up for that first race, give it everything you have, I promise you the feeling that comes from that accomplishment is unlike no other!

To avoid injury, don't run every day. Your body needs a day in between runs to heal and strengthen.... I haven't had an injury since I stopped running every day!
