Earlier in the week I blogged about my training burnout and plan to reduce mileage and # of running days this week. A quick update:
I guess my body really did need a break. It worked! I ran yesterday for the first time since Saturday and it was one of the best short-training runs I've had in a while. 6 miles. Me and my iPod. And perfect running weather.
As far as the something new goes.
The compression shorts? Love them. I'm not really clear on what the compression is supposed to do or whether or not it benefits all runners. Regardless, love them!
And the Honey Stinger Energy Chews? Love them too. Easy to eat and not too sweet. After the Air Force half this weekend and before Chicago I'll see how well they work for long runs.

I recently tried the Honey Stingers chews.. they are my fave! I love them for my long runs. I have tried Gu Chomps and some others in the past but for me (I had braces before) they were really too large and difficult to chew quick enough but the Honey Stingers are perfect. Like you said, not too sweet and very easy to eat.
