- Starting with a 5:30 a.m. run is a great way to start the day.
- You find greater joy in spending your money on running apparel, shoes and gear than on a pair of designer jeans, a pretty top or capris.
- When people ask what happens if it rains on the day of a race you reply, "You get wet."
- You get upset about an inury because it keeps you from running, not beause you have actually damaged your body.
- You consider getting a PR almost as great as winning the race.
- You don't like having to take a rest day.
- You already have a list of races you plan to run next year.
- The high you feel after a race outweighs the anxiety you feel before it.
- While driving, you constantly consider the roads for running route potential.
- Your iPod has a Running playlist. And a More Running playlist.
- You enjoy the thought that your sport is punishment for other athletes.
- The first question you ask the doctor when you're diagnosed with an injury is, "Can I run?" or "When can I run again?"
- You're truly too tired for chores but you have enough energy for a 60 minute run.
- You run outdoors in the winter even if that means frozen water bottles.
- You have more running clothes in the laundry than anything else.
- When you're groucy your family tells you to go for a run.
- You know exactly how many miles are logged on your running shoes.
- You're jealous of runners you see while driving because you wish you were running too.
- You look for races or routes to run where you're going on vacation.
- When you're told you need surgery and your first question is how long until I can run again.
Chad sent me a link that listed hundreds of ideas that finish the statement, You might be a runner if__________________________________. Above are 20 that apply to me.
Do any of the above 20 apply to you? Do you have any ideas to add that aren't listed? I'd like to see how long of a "YOU MIGHT BE A RUNNER IF" list we can come up with. I'll create a download to share the final list.
You plan your vacations around destination races.

Many of these apply to me, as well as the following:
If you have more Asics Gel Kayanos (or insert your favorite) than any other kind of shoe in your closet combined.
If you think about what you're going to eat today in terms of "Will this give me issues tomorrow when I run?"

Great list! I would add...if you think a run on Christmas morning, January 1st, or even before your wedding is normal!

Love the list!
You might be a runner if you are years behind on your children's scrapbooks, but your scrapbook of races you have run is current. (Sadly this is me!)

Jennifer wants me to suggest that you might be a runner if you have body glide and a clif bar in your purse.
Posted by: David | September 04, 2011 at 01:46 PM
You might be a runner if you run 10 miles before your race because the race is not long enough.

Haha! Love them all!. I have one for you. You might be a runner is you buy extra pair of your favorite running shoes because you read they are being discontinued.
So funny about the playlists on the iPOD because I have like 5 of them depending on the workout. And #20 soo aplied to me...lol. When I asked the question to my doctor last summer he looked at me like I had horns...lol.
