One Little Word | Embrace [who I am]
One little word can have a big impact on your life. A journey shared.
A glimpse of One Little Word 2011. September. October.
September || Choose A Battle
One Little Word Captured || September
September's prompt was choosing a battle and choosing to surrender. My battle is to stop letting what I didn't do negate my accomplishments. See the progress! See the success! My surrender is to accept that I can't control everything and to not interpret that as giving up.
October || Capturing Progress and Becoming the Person I Was Meant To Be
One Little Word Captured || October
October's prompt was to capture the essence of your word with photos. Images that represent your journey. I've been doing this weekly so I narrowed the focus of the 9 images for October to how I've come this far. What are the things that have attributed to my success and are a part of who I am today.

LOVE the word "embrace"...sometimes such a tough thing to remember to do but our experiences are so much richer when we are able to truly embrace ourselves and our experiences!

Great post and great job of staying disciplined on photos and such. I am inspired by your discipline of running and need much more of that in my own life. I have made a start at least; I bought a bicycle and have started riding. I love it! Thanks for your beautiful shots.

Great photos Jill! You have made such incredible progress with your word this year!

Love your word captured through photography! WTG! Keep running! :) I'm still attempting my 3 miles. I have no interest in huge amounts of running miles, but the 3 mile is perfect for getting myself moving and clearing my head.

Great to see your take on the word Embrace (my word as well). Thank you for sharing your fabulous photos and your experience (and super congrats on the Air Force Marathon!). -Amanda

Wow, Jill, SUCH an important lesson to learn - and even harder still to make stick! I, like you, have a tendency to let the things I didn't do overshadow what I DID do. Note to self: be kind to you, self! :) Your words and photos are beautiful and I trust they will reshape who you are from the inside out! Thank you for sharing your heart so openly.
Blessings...

So glad to see you back this month Jill! I'm always so inspired when I come visit your blog and always leave wishing I was a runner! I know how it is to let the good be overshadowed by the 'what ifs'....so glad you're embracing the good that you see!

I love your blog and post Jill - wow a marathon - how fantastic is that. I too relate to the 'only remember what I didn't achieve' and am learning that this isn't healthy for anyone, least of all me ... or you. You've achieved so much - I think you are a star xx

our experiences are so much richer when we are able to truly embrace ourselves...little did I know how true this statement is. Until now :)
Thanks Julia!

Hi Deb. Discipline is easy with the things you love :)
Way to go with the biking. You won't regret choosing to start. I'd love to keep up with how you're doing with the biking.

Hi Rebekah. Running any distance is great for clearing your head. Sometimes nothing else works.

Thank you Lisa. You CAN be a runner, or a biker, or a walker...anything!

Thank you for your kind words Nikki!! It perplexes me why it's sometimes difficult to see what we did achieve and so easy to see what we didn't see.
