1. Disclaimer: Please excuse the momentary bad attitude. Having forced limitations placed on you sucks! Just to name a few. No running. No lifting more than 10 lbs. No swimming (I don't even swim but being told I can't sucks). Not even 48 hours since having surgery and it feels like I've been recovering for weeks.
Bad attitude aside over. All went well with the surgery and minimal pain post-op. I keep reminding myself it will be worth it in the end. Thank you for the emails, prayers and well wishes.
2. As I mentioned here You Can't Run for 2 Weeks, I've been planning our Thanksgiving menu using this issue of Cooking Light Magazine. Yummy recipes for healthy versions of traditional favorites and a few new ideas to add to the menu. But, now I'm considering Thanksgiving the easy way, holiday catering by Whole Foods Market. I still have a few days to decide.
3. I've narrowed down my possible 2012 marathon options to The ING New York City Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon.
Happy Thursday!
I know it's frustrating, but don't rush you're recovery! And, definitely cater your Thanksgiving :) Well wishes being sent in abundance ...

It will be over before you know it. You want to hit me right now don't you? Seriously...It's just a small blip in the grand scheme and I know with your attitude you will end up turning this down time into something very good!...and I can't wait to hear what it is.

I would love to run one or both of those marathons someday! Awesome!

Well I definitely know how frustrating the "no running" thing can be. Just be thankful you have a relatively short time frame before you can be back at it! Funny that the "no swimming" thing is frustrating even when you don't swim. It sucks to be told you can't!
Oooh, catering thanksgiving - that sounds kind of awesome! I mean cooking's great and all, but no prep, mess or cooking clean up sounds like heaven to me!

Hi Kathy. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am that "no running' is for a relatively short time. I enjoy cooking Thanksgiving dinner and doit every year but the catering is sounding better and better :)
Good luck with PT and returning to run soon!

Thank you Lee. You're right. Despite the frustration I will not in any way rush recovery and risk going back too soon. As much as I enjoy planning and cooking Thanksgiving dinner the catering idea is becoming more and more appealing :)

Glad it went well, been thinking about you! If I could run any marathon it would be NYC!

Aw, sorry to hear about your surgery and your forced 'sit'. I do know what you are going through as I have just been through it myself.
Your body will feel refreshed after all the rest and you will come back stronger and fitter than ever.
I wish you all the best for a speedy and successful recovery.
:)

Oh bummer on the limitations that sucks. I had just two days of cants and I wanted to run so bad when I was told i couldn't. I hope the two weeks goes very fast!! Two super marathons to try, I am so a small races type runner so those would overwhelm me but i hear they are great!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Take care!!

Thank you Courtney. After Chicago I didn't think I would ever want to run a >40,000 race but NYC looks too awesome to pass up. Now to see if I can win the NYC lottery and actually get in!

Thank you Jennifer. How's everything going? Fabulous?!?!?

Thank you Elle. Had to laugh at "forced sit". Sounds like being put in timeout. I'll keep reminding myself "stronger and fitter" "stronger and fitter" :)

Hi Courtney! So far not going by very fast but I'm feeling better every day. Both look great so that makes it hard to choose just 1. Maybe I should try to win the NYC lottery and if I get in that will make the decision for me. Happy Friday!
