Earth Hour 2010

This year's Earth Hour is dedicated to my son, Alec. For the past few weeks Alec has been working on a project for Advanced Social Studies on famine, health care, government, etc. in Sub-Saharan Africa, more specifically, Chad. 

I have watched him research, write, and research some more. We've edited together, discussed ideas and simply had conversations. Yesterday while noticing his reactions to what he is learning it hit me...one day he is going to do something great and that something great is going to be something to do with being green. Something to do with making life better for others. Something to do with protecting our earth. Something totally selfless and just because it's right.

So, what are our plans for Earth Hour this year? It's going to be up to Alec.

For Today...

Outside my window...dark and quiet but not too cold
I am thinking...I should get off the computer and get ready for work
I am thankful for...blue skies and sunshine
From the kitchen...fresh fruit and vegetables
I am wearing...pink pajamas
I am creating...2009-2010 cheerleading album
I am going...to start a push up and pull up challenge with my son
I am reading...Learning to See Creatively: Design, Color and Composition in Photography by Bryan Peterson
I am hoping...my daughter's physical therapy goes well 
I am hearing...silence
Around the house...home is my favorite place to be
One of my favorite things...running
A few plans for the rest of the week: running my first race of 2010, errands, dinner out on Saturday, the last cheer competition of the season
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

I get a sense of satisfaction when my kids use my studio and scrapbook supplies for school projects.
