Team-Up Thursday: Small
This week's theme and my photo reminded me of a Winnie the Pooh quote, "Sometimes it's the smallish things that take up the most room in our hearts."
Tina's photo is the small book bracelet. As an avid reader I think I need one of these. SO cute. You can read more about Tina's photo here at Just A Minute of My Time. My photo is the chocolate chip cookies. No the cookies themselves were not small. It was Alec's small act of kindness (with a little humor) that I wanted to capture in this photo. Alec is taking a Life Skills class (a.k.a. cooking) and the first baking assignment in class was chocolate chip cookies. Each student that baked was allowed 6 cookies. While the majority of the class enjoyed their cookies some time during the school day Alec simply wrapped his up to take home. He didn't eat a single cookie. He told me, "I had to guard them with my life!! Everyone wanted to eat them!" and "When they asked I told them no, these are for my family." They were the best chocolate chip cookies ever <3

Team Up Thursday: Work
This week Tina, at Just A Minute of My Time, and I took our cameras to work. Tina happens to be married to her boss. Her shot on top is a peek at her husband's business. My shot is from the playground. This week's theme reminded me that I have worked with children my entire adult life. And as a psychologist in a school district I combine psychology, working with children and an academic environment which, I think, is the perfect combination.
Team-Up Thursday: Kids
Have you ever downloaded 100s of photos to have one totally random shot stand out and immediately grab your attention? A photo that is not necessarily perfectly composed and metered. Maybe even a less than appealing background. My photo for this week is one of those shots. A photo of my daughter. A photo that captured how much she has changed. A photo that shows hints of maturity that leave me asking "when did that happen". A photo that so clearly shows her personality and who she is at this time in her life. A photo that made me do a double take. Simply so Alyssa. Tina's photo is the kids' comical interpretation of hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. I think fun with food is a universal concept among kids.

Wishcasting Wednesday, March 31
Wishcasting Wednesday is a safe haven for wishes, a fertile field in which to plant wish seeds and have them witnessed and tended lovingly. It’s a place where magic begins. Make a Wish: Dare to dream. Every Wednesday here at Jamie Ridler Studios, there will be a wish prompt to inspire you, but you can always wish for whatever you like, whenever you like. If you’d like to share your wish on your blog or website, there will be a space here for you to share your link so that others can visit and help tend your wish. Last weekend I ran a race. I ran 9.3 miles nonstop. I had a great time with friends. It didn't rain as expected. It wasn't too cold. I dressed just right for the weather. Took lots of photos before and after. Sounds great right? But, those are not the things I remember most. My first thoughts are not on what I accomplished, 9+ miles of a very hilly race. What I remember most is that I was about 3 minutes slower this year. It really isn't as sad as it sounds. This just makes me more determined. Makes me take a look at my current training plan and make a change or 2. This is a race against myself and most often that is the case when I run. So that brings me to my wish. My wish is to set a personal record for the 12th Cincinnati Flying Pig Half Marathon. What is something you wish for? What would happened if every week you made a wish?
What magic might start to stir?

Blog about your absolute fave beverage of choice.
An ode to...
My favorite bold coffee is Starbuck's Komodo Dragon just coffee, no cream or sugar extra hot. Touch of flavored coffee would be a grande, double, 2 pump, nonfat, pumpkin spice latte. Although I have my favorites I love to try new coffees, different companies, different grinds, different ways to brew.
Happy, relaxing, enjoy!
Today's blog challenge found here Erica's Simple Inspirations:
You have the house to yourself. Everyone is gone. The whole day is yours. What do you do? What are those comfort things you turn to when you get YOU time, what things do you enjoy?
I would wake up my regular time 4:45 but I wouldn't go to the gym until 8:00. Nice break from 5:00! I would enjoy my coffee while playing on the computer. After the gym and shower, I would scrapbook. Followed by a drive somewhere to take pictures. A random never before photographed by me place. A little lunch and Starbucks with a good book or magazines. Scrap until time to pick up Alec and Alyssa from school. Perfection!
