A group of ladies from Ali Edwards' class, One Little Word, have put together a OLW Blog Hop to share our photos, thoughts, inspirations, experiences and class projects. Each inspired by a personal word for 2011.
All of the following will be put together in an 8.5 x 11 album to capture this experience. This journey.

In addition to the album I'm creating with Ali's class I am participating in the 52 Week Project, 52 weeks of self portraits. The 52 self portraits will be added to my OLW album. Initially my plan was to include the 4 January self portraits in this post but, my comfort zone is behind the camera and decided that is way too many photos of myself in one post. Visit the 52 Week Flickr Group to see the self portraits shared by the members. It's very cool to see the photos the everyone shares each week.
And last but not least. I'm hosting a weekly One Little Word | Captured photography challenge. Every Saturday I share a photo that somehow depicts my OLW along with a linky for others to share as well. It's been great seeing the photos, reading the words and following the journey's of the participants. Consider joining anytime even if it's not every week. Using Clipping Masks on a Layered Template (Using PSE8)
A layered template is a stack of shapes each on their own layer. The following tutorial covers using a clipping mask.
Open a layered template. Go to File>Save As and save this project under a new name and close the original template.
Open a photo.
Use the Move tool to drag your photo onto the template. Position the photo over the mask you want to clip the photo to.
Go to Layer>Create Clipping Mask (Shortcut: Mac CMD+G or PC Ctrl+G)
With the photo layer active, use the move tool to resize and rotate the photo until the desired portion of the photo is visible.
Repeat until all photos are placed on the template.

PROMPT FOUR
Today's prompt was to create a layout with the photos taken for the previous prompts (or any photos waiting to be scrapped) using Shimelle's sketches.
I picked a sketch and made a few changes to make it my own. The photos quickly reminded me that I haven't created any AAM layouts this year. This was the perfect opportunity to remedy that with an AAM "Favorites" focus.

For today, create another layout from Prompt Four and move on to Prompt Five.

I've found a system that makes this project 365-doable. Keeping it simple with a journaling block that gives me flexibility for however much or little I want to write. And do a little almost every day (especially the journaling) with the layout at the end of the week. And doing it all digi. And finally, print once a month.
Now, I just need to figure out why the images in this post are not more clear.

5. Date night with Chad (sans kids).
6. Make Cookies In A Jar for teachers.
7. Holiday notes in backpacks.

9. Family movie night with Scrooge (our favorite is with Albert Finney as Scrooge) and popcorn.
10. Spa Day for me (perfect right around the 21st).

A few favorite traditions. A few new ideas. And not over committing. Perfect.
Continuing to play with old photos and Yesterday and Today with Ali Edwards. This is my first attempt at creating a project that is a combination of digital (beyond just brushes) and traditional elements.
Fo this layout the traditional element will be adding a metal rimmed tag with my initials...
