Scavenger Hunt Sunday

1. Decay (old/abandoned)

One of my favorite shots for this week's challenge. The texture I used is Pollution and can be found at Shadowhouse Creations. I think I'm even getting a little better at applying textures. 

2. Groups of Three

My all time favorite group of three.

3. Kitchen (Self Portrait)

I actually had fun shooting these photos for my cloned self portrait [in the kitchen]. Steps for creating the cloned images can be found at Selfie Magic. I love learning how to do new things! 

4. Things that make you go hmmm...

The "makes me go hmmmm..." part of the photo is not the actual magazine. It's the catch phrases that get me every time. My interest and curiosity is peeked when I read  FAT BLASTING FOODS or PERKY BUTT and FIRM ARMS. Hmmm...a TIGHT TUSH? Tell me how! HEALTHY MOVIE MUNCHIES? Who wouldn't want to know more. There is a reason the magazines are on racks where you stand in line at the grocery store.

5. Me Time

My favorite photo of this week's hunt. It doesn't matter if I run with Chad, friends, a run club or by myself. Alone or with others this time is for me. 

I loved this week's themes. I had fun coming up with ideas, taking the photos and learning something new (cloning) too. And more practice with applying textures. This is a perfect example of why I enjoy photography challenges.

A Photo Scavenger Hunt and Something Simple

1. Self Portrait
It will take more than a fractured foot to stop me.

2. Handmade
In all the years I've been scrapbooking this is an all time favorite project. A mini album of Chad and I. A little reminder not to let the "us" get lost in our busy lives. 

3. Orange
I don't know what it is about this year. More than ever I'm awed by the colors of fall.

4. CandleCandles are almost always burning in our house.

5. Street Sign

I ended up with dozens of blurry street signs and then there was this one. It's a perfect shot to act as my little reminder of a few things.

And 

Early morning quiet.

I cherish my early morning time. The quiet house. Hot coffee. Starting a new day.

Sometimes it's just have one of those days...kwim? No rhyme or reason, no discernible pattern and never lasting more than a day or so. Try my hardest to stay positive and confident. Sometimes it feels like a life test and in 30 some odd years I'm able to make an A-!

May Challenge Week 2

Introducing more of me...very "never know what mood" moody!

Discouraged. Happy. Worried. Confident. Safe. Creative. Self defeating. Wonderful. Uneasy. Social. Ya know it all depends on the mood.

I know this hasn't always been the case and I know I have gotten more so as I get older. Other than that it's anyone's guess. Oh and the other thing I do know is I have the most patient and understanding husband ever!

May Challenge Week 1

This month's Self Portrait Challenge is an introduction.

I guess it would make sense to start with my name. I'm Jill and everyone calls me Jill except my husband who calls me beautiful and 2 chlildren who call me mom (or the occasional mommy). I've been married almost 13 years.

I decided to participate in the Self Portrait Challenge to step outside of my comfort zone. Not just that very comfortable zone of being behind the camera but also the quality and creativity of my photography.
