I've been training for about 20 weeks (Too long. More on that later.) for this weekend. For the past few days I have gone back and forth from so excited to majour butterflies in my stomach.
This morning, I'm eerily calm and relaxed. I'm ready (Disclaimer: the feeling of confidence and being ready is subject to change at any given moment!).
All along I planned packing for at least cool weather. Change in plans for warmer temps. Finally, this is all packed.
This is what I have worked and planned for. My Sunday morning :)

His death saddens me in a way that feels personal. Maybe it's his brilliant mind or my fascination with what it must be like to be Steve Jobs. To see the world through his eyes. Maybe it's his follow your dreams approach to life. Or the fact that he changed the way we do things in life and in our home. It just feels personal.
I know this video will be posted everywhere. It's worth repeating.
This week I'm co-hosting with clairejustineoxox to bring you Blog Hop Wednesday. A great way to find new friends, new blogs to read and introduce your blog to new readers.

Mid-week review
How is your workout week going? Have you been enjoying great weather? What are you doing to take adavantage of the perfect being outside weather?
Now the link-up!
Lets talk music.
I don't always run with music, but when I do it's a great pick me up. With some songs I get into a comfortable rhythm that feels like I could run forever. With other songs, I can't help but push myself a little bit harder and a little bit faster for the length of the song.
That brings me to this song, Motley Crue's Kickstart My Heart. Why this song in particular?
Do you have a running-only song? A song that would typically be considered out of your comfort zone. What is your favorite go to song that motivates you to run just a little bit harder? If you don't run with music what motivates you to push harder just for a few mintues?

Did you know that now you can pin videos to your Pinterest boards? Cool!
I know you'll be shocked but most of my video pinning has been...
Like this one
How can you not be inspired by "I believe in redefining my impossible." which is my new mantra. Or "I believe no decision should be made while running up hill." Love that!
I needed a video or 2 during last night's run. Definitely not great. More along the lines of blah and not for any apparent reason. Unless I blame it on the heat. I try not to keep going on and on about the heat but, really, when are the miserable temps going to end?!?!?
I'll make up for it on Thurs. with a fabulous run! Off to work push myself with P90X Shoulders and Arms before getting ready for work.

Check out and enter the 5 Moeben Sleeve Giveaway! Giveaway ends midnight EST August 22.
I ran 18 miles wearing the sleeves last weekend. They're so comfortable. And the added sun protection without added heat is awesome.

Welcome to my inaugural HEALTHY KIDS post!
I a mom of 2 kids that would easily describe me as a health and fitness fanatic (I would say more of an enthusiast) that does a lot of what I do for my kids. A role model that tries to teach with actions just as often, if not more so, than words alone. I also work with 1000+ elementary school kids as a school psychologist. It would be safe to say the topic of healthy kids is often on my mind. What can we do to encourage a healthier generation? What can we do to encourage kids to move more? To make healthy choices about what they eat?
Introducing something new, a weekly blog post that focuses on kids' health and fitness. A resource for tips, ideas, information and stories.
I'm sure you've heard of one of my favorite kid-focus programs, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.
